The main objective of the course is to raise the capacity of local stakeholders, social partners, and staff of international organizations to analyse survey data on child labour and youth employment. A related objective is to support the interpretation of such data in order to design well-informed policies on child labour mitigation and youth employment promotion.

The course will serve the following three specific objectives:

  • improve understanding of the concepts of child labour and decent employment for young people; enhance capacity to use modern statistical software for data analysis;
  • support the capacity to construct indicators to measure and monitor child labour, school-to-work transition and youth employment conditions;
  • strengthen the ability of counterparts to analyse and use child labour and youth employment data for policy and programme design.
