Attendees The conference will bring together selected employment and skill specialists, representatives from youth groups, senior government officers, employers’ organization, trade unions, and practitioners, the international agencies such as ILO, UN and World Bank. Participants will have opportunities to share their experiences with the forum on policy formulation and implementation.
The event will also look at how youth can play an active role themselves to obtain employment.

This two day event will facilitate the government planning process by identifying how important youth issues and lessons from other countries can be incorporated into the country’s Medium Term Development Plan. The conference will also launch IYEN as a knowledge sharing platform on YE by addressing:  

 

  • What different perspectives exist on YE, especially in relation to young people themselves, government officials and social partners
  • What lessons can be gained from international and national comparative practices for tackling youth unemployment and responding to the labour market
  • How sector based employment strategies can be used as a vehicle to support employment growth for youth.
  • What innovative approaches can be implemented to support entrepreneurship and small business development amongst youth
  • Codification of of what has happen and who does what in Indonesia in relation to youth employment.
  • How Indonesia can move forward for YE
