Business English for the world of work, 2009

A batch of 30 school teachers working in plantation areas and surrounding villages have been trained. This has upgraded and enhanced their skills and knowledge on business English for the world of work. In a cascading effort planned for the remainder of the project's lifetime, the 30 teachers will reach 20 young people each – or a total of 600 youth. The teachers were exposed to and trained in an enhanced business English curriculum for the world of work. The teachers are active in the project sites in Sabaragamuwa Province with its Districts of Kegalle and Ratnapura. The Ministry of Education (MoE) of Sabaragamuwa Province and the local Regional English Support Center (RESC) are the project’s strategic partners for this intervention.
