Bhutan: Engineering degrees have better job prospects than Arts

Bhutan, 11 September 2009. Article from the Bhutan Observer describing graduate employment troubles.

From the Bhutan Observer:

"According to a job prospecting report of 2009, job opportunities for engineers are good, especially in the construction sector whereas Arts graduates find it difficult to get employment. It says that graduating with a first class degree in Arts is not enough to guarantee a job in any sector.

"The mismatch between the jobs available and jobseekers’ choice is a factor that leads to unemployment. In all the three sessions of the first parliament, the speaker’s address highlighted unemployment as a serious issue. “The indication looks like the reason for unemployment is the jobseeker’s choices,” said Speaker Jigme Tshultim."

Does anyone have any information on skills mismatch in Bhutan?  What about on the content of Bhutanese Arts degrees?
