ILO: Global Jobs Pact meeting

Geneva, 9 November 2009: The ILO's Governing Body is meeting in Geneva to discuss the world's response to the global financial crisis and to assess the scope for recovery under the Global Jobs Pact.

The ILO adopted the Global Jobs Pact in June 2009.  The Pact was adopted to address the social effects of the economic and financial crisis and has since been supported by the G8, G20 and UN Economic and Social Council.

The ILO Governing Body, meeting in its 306th session will discuss the principal means of giving effect to the Pact.
