Korea: youth employment hits 19-year low

Korea, 21 September 2009: Government report indicates youth employment levels in August fell to the lowest level in 19 years.

A report of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the National Statistical Office shows that the number of employed 20- to 30-year-olds fell to 9.52 million in August 2009, down 2.8% from the previous year and the lowest figure since April 1990.
