Pacific: Project concept note for Youth Employment Promotion in Pacific Island Countries published

The proposed project addresses the complexity of youth employment issues and contributes to poverty reduction and social stability in the Pacific. It builds on the experience and lessons learned, gained from the implementation of previous ILO projects, especially from its ongoing Pacific YEP.

Issued on 28 January 2010, the concept note discusses a wide-ranging youth employment promotion project proposal for Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.  

The proposed project will focus on:

  • design and implementation of national action plans
  • improved availability of career guidance and employment services
  • generating sustainable youth enterprise
