Youth unemployment: Shrinking skill base fires up apprenticeship programmes

The Financial Times, 29 May 2012 - Young people are bearing much of the pain of western economies’ deepening financial crisis. According to the International Labour Organization, youth unemployment rates in 2012 in developed economies and the EU are, at 18 per cent, close to their peak since the ILO started recording them in 1991.
