Myanmar does not have a national youth policy. The Child Law defines youth as people aged between 16 and 18 years old, but this is not consistently applied in the society. The Department of Social Welfare within the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement is responsible for youth issues and implements both preventive and protective measures for youth.
