Participants will include all identified ILO Youth Employment focal points from the region. It will also benefit from the presence of the ILO Global coordinator for youth employment.
This event will help raise the general understanding of current initiatives on youth employment globally and in the region, as well as discuss avenue for opportunities. Youth Employment focal points will be asked to present, not so much on the actual nature of the official youth employment situation in their countries but rather, seeking this opportunity to convey their thoughts and suggestions to colleagues from the youth employment programme. Furthermore, a session with Decent Work Team and Regional Office specialists will be conveyed, as well as with the head of partnerships and resource mobilization and with the regional information officer.
Core to the event and paramount to its success is knowledge sharing. The youth employment knowledge sharing platform – APYouthNet- will thus see to the integration of the work planned and as such, will become a pivotal tool in the exercise. An APYouthnet talkshow, joining all participants, will be organized on the second day of the event.
