Cabin crew training

The Daily News, 28 December 2011 - Sri Lanka's President, Mahinda Rajapaksa, has requested that an airline cabin training course be implemented through the Vocational Training Institute to open up the career path to rural youth who cannot afford the high fees of private training institutions.

The glamour of being an airhostess will not just be a dream for village youth in the future, as President Mahinda Rajapaksa has requested to provide an airline cabin crew training course through the Vocational Training Institute, said Youth Affairs and Skills Development Minster Dullas Alahapperuma.

Students have to pay exorbitant fees to institutions that conduct airline related courses at present and it is beyond the reach of most, he said. By successfully completing this course rural youth will have an equal opportunity to seek employment in the lucrative airline trade, he added.
