Detroit to get funding boost to help young people find summer jobs

NEWSCHANNEL 3, 23 March 2015 - The City of Detroit is getting a funding boost to help employ young people for summer jobs.

The Detroit News reports that the Skillman Foundation is awarding $500,000 for the work.

$400,000 will go to the non-profit CitY Connection Detroit, which helps train young people for jobs, secures job placement, and conducts evaluations.

The rest of the funding goes to the Philadelphia Youth Network, which is helping Detroit with employment resources for young people.
